The Autel CAN FD Adapter is a purpose-built diagnostic accessory that expands the communication capabilities of compatible Autel vehicle communication interfaces (VCIs) to support the CAN FD (Controller Area Network Flexible Data-Rate) protocol — a faster, higher-bandwidth communications standard used by many modern vehicle networks (especially recent GM and Ford models).
When attached to an Autel VCI such as the MaxiFlash Elite J2534-VCI, Wireless Diagnostic Interface, VCI100, or VCI Mini, this adapter enables your Autel diagnostic tools (including popular MaxiSys, MaxiCom, MX/MK/MP/DS series, and IM series devices) to communicate with vehicles that use the CAN FD bus protocol for diagnostics.
This makes it possible to perform full system scans, read and clear codes, view live data, and access vehicle modules on CAN FD-equipped vehicles that might otherwise be inaccessible with a standard VCI alone.
The adapter is compact and robust, designed for workshop use, and plug-and-play — simply connect it between your VCI and the vehicle’s OBD-II link to enable CAN FD communication. It supports a broad list of Autel diagnostic tools but is not compatible with simpler interfaces like the AP200 or Maxiflash Pro, so check your tool’s compatibility before use.
