Description
Castrol Alpha EP 220 (or its synthetic Alphasyn EP equivalent) is a high-quality industrial gear lubricant formulated with sulphur-phosphorus EP additive technology to protect gears under heavy load and shock-loading conditions.
The base oil and additive combination provides good thermal and oxidative stability, high corrosion protection, and a stable lubricating film for long, trouble-free operation.
The oil is classified as a CLP gear oil under DIN 51517 Part 3 and meets a wide range of industrial performance requirements such as AGMA 9005, U.S. Steel 224, and major OEM gearbox approvals.
Its ISO VG 220 viscosity provides balanced film thickness and flow for gears operating in moderate-to-high load conditions. The lubricant also demonstrates good water separation, demulsibility, and anti-foam behaviour, helping maintain consistent lubrication even in challenging environments.
