Description

Castrol Alphasyn GS 320 is a premium synthetic gear oil engineered for industrial applications where gears and bearings are subjected to elevated temperatures, heavy loads, and continuous operation.

Its advanced formulation uses carefully selected PAG base fluids combined with antioxidant, rust-inhibiting, and extreme pressure (EP) additives to deliver excellent thermal and oxidative stability that helps minimize sludge and deposit formation, supports extended drain intervals, and enhances component protection compared with conventional mineral oils.

The oil’s high viscosity index (≈218–229) and wide service temperature capability (continuous up to ~150 °C with intermittent peaks up to ~220 °C) make it well-suited for applications such as large-scale mills, calenders, worm gear drives, and other heavy-duty enclosed gearboxes.

Reduced frictional losses can help lower energy consumption and sump temperatures, contributing to improved equipment efficiency and reliability. Alphasyn GS 320 meets industrial gear oil standards including DIN 51517-3 CLP and ISO 12925-1 CKD.

Key Features

  • Fully synthetic PAG base oil with EP, antioxidant, and rust-inhibiting additives.

  • ISO VG 320 viscosity for robust film strength in heavy industrial gear systems.

  • High thermal and oxidative stability — reduces sludge and deposit formation.

  • Wide service temperature range (continuous ≈150 °C, intermittent up to ~220 °C).

  • Reduced frictional losses help lower energy consumption and operating temperatures.

  • CLP classification (DIN 51517-3) and industrial gear oil standards (ISO 12925-1 CKD).

  • 208 L drum packaging — ideal for bulk use and large reservoir refills.

Typical Uses

Designed for industrial enclosed gearboxes and high-temperature gear and bearing lubrication in sectors such as heavy machinery, process plants, manufacturing, and material handling — particularly where extended oil life and enhanced gear protection are required.
