Description

Castrol Alphasyn PG 150 is a premium synthetic gear lubricant in the PG range developed for use in industrial enclosed gear systems, particularly worm reduction gearboxes and similar applications where sliding contact and energy efficiency are key considerations. T

he oil’s PAG (polyalkylene glycol) base fluid, along with antioxidants, rust inhibitors, and Extreme Pressure (EP) additives, provides a low coefficient of friction that helps reduce mechanical losses and operating temperatures, which can lead to longer oil and equipment life compared with conventional mineral gear oils.

This synthetic formulation also offers an inherently high viscosity index and low pour point, making it suitable for a wide temperature range of operations, along with good load‑carrying capability, excellent wear protection, and reliable performance under thermal and mechanical stresses. It meets the requirements of DIN 51517 Part 3 – CLP for industrial gear oils and is compatible with many OEM specifications that allow the use of PAG‑based gear lubricants.
