Castrol Optigear ALR X1 is a premium synthetic gear lubricant formulated with advanced additive technology and polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oils to meet the demanding lubrication needs of robot gear systems where oil lubrication is preferred over grease due to high speeds and frequent cycle work. It’s coloured yellow to allow quick visual detection of leaks during operations.
The formulation delivers excellent thermal and oxidative stability, high viscosity index for reliable performance across wide temperature ranges, and good anti-wear and load-carrying properties to protect gear teeth and extend component life. It also features low sludge formation propensity and good elastomer/seal compatibility, which helps reduce leakage and downtime in automated systems.
Typical applications include oil-lubricated robot gearboxes, where extended oil change intervals and robust protection help increase uptime and maintenance intervals. Its low pour point and balanced viscosity profile make it suitable for both low and high-temperature environments.
