Description

Castrol Optigear Synthetic™ 1710/320 is a high-performance extreme pressure gear oil (ISO VG 320) formulated with Castrol’s Tribol Gear Oil Additive (TGOA) Plastic Deformation (PD) additive and high-quality mineral base oils and synthetic polyalphaolefins to help tackle wear-related problems in heavily loaded industrial gears and bearings.

Applications
  • Spur, helical, herringbone, bevel and planetary gears; geared couplings; rolling and sliding bearings; gear drive circulating systems
  • Usable temperature range (application dependent): −30 °C to +95 °C (−22 °F to 203 °F)

  • Classification: CLP-HC (DIN 51502); exceeds DIN 51517 T.3
  • Compatibility: compatible with most mineral oil, ester and synthetic-based products (up to ~3% residual without issues); not compatible with polyglycols

Application notes
  1. For mixed fills, small residuals (~≤3%) of previous mineral/ester/synthetic oils are acceptable; performance benefits of TGOA PD may be reduced when mixed.
  2. Not compatible with polyglycols. After draining a polyglycol fill, flush thoroughly with mineral oil or flushing oil before filling.
  3. Observe the recommended operating temperature range and OEM specifications.
