Description
Castrol Aircol PG 185 is a high-performance synthetic gas compressor oil based on poly-alkylene glycol, for the lubrication of compressors handling hydrocarbon and chemical gases.
- Pack size: 20 L canister
- Also available in: 208 L drum
Applications
- Working sumps of both rotary and reciprocating compressors where the lubricant is in continuous contact with the gas being compressed
- Liquified natural gases (methane, ethane)
- Liquified petroleum gases (propane, butane)
- Hydrocarbon chemical gases (ethylene, propylene, butylene)
- Chemical gases (ammonia, vinyl chloride, butadiene)
Specifications & Approvals
- Meets the requirements of Sulzer Burckhardt A.G., Winterthur for use in K-type gas cargo compressors
Key Properties & Benefits
- Low solvency with hydrocarbon and chemical gases, thus avoiding significant fall in viscosity and lubricant performance
- Totally synthetic—does not break down or polymerise to form gums, resins or carbon
- Very high viscosity index supports extreme temperature operations
- Wide range of applications including LPG, LNG hydrocarbon and chemical gases

Product Description
Being totally synthetic, Castrol Aircol PG 185 avoids the tendency of mineral oils to break down or polymerise to form gums, resins and carbon. It has a very high viscosity index beneficial for high temperature operations, and is used in a wide variety of gas handling compressors including hydrocarbon and chemical gases.
