Description
A premium synthetic rotary screw air compressor lubricant with ISO VG 68 viscosity, VDL (DIN 51506) classification, and PAO-based formulation — supplied in a 20 L canister — engineered for oil-flooded rotary screw compressors operating under normal and severe duty conditions.
Product Description
Castrol Aircol SR 68 is a synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO)-based compressor oil formulated to provide excellent oxidation and thermal stability, anti-wear performance, very low deposit forming tendency, and extended service life in rotary screw compressor systems. Aircol SR oils are designed to meet the DIN 51506 VDL and ISO 6743-3 (DAG/DAH/DAJ) classifications for rotary air compressors and are suitable for use in compressors operating at high air discharge temperatures, harsh environments, and heavy duty cycles.
The PAO synthetic base helps the oil resist breakdown at elevated compressor temperatures, supports long drain intervals (up to ~8000 hours) under normal duty, and provides compatibility with common seal materials such as nitrile, silicone, polyurethane, and fluoropolymer elastomers — though it may not be compatible with SBR or EPDM seals.
Aircol SR 68 is ester-free, which minimizes corrosive acid formation and contributes to longer equipment life, and offers excellent water separation to help prevent emulsions that can lead to separator element clogging.
