Description

Castrol Alphasyn GS 460 is a premium synthetic gear lubricant tailored for heavy-duty industrial applications where high operating temperatures and severe load conditions are common. It’s formulated on a carefully selected PAG base with antioxidant, rust-inhibiting, and Extreme Pressure (EP) additives that ensure superior performance compared with conventional mineral gear oils. This synthetic oil is particularly suited for the high-temperature lubrication of gears and bearings, such as in large scale mills, calenders, and worm gears with high torque at low speeds.

The formulation offers reduced frictional losses, which helps decrease energy consumption and lower sump temperatures, while its high thermal stability minimizes sludge and deposit formation, supporting extended drain and oil change intervals. With an inherently high viscosity index (VI) and a wide service temperature range (approximately –30 °C to 150 °C continuous, with intermittent up to ~220 °C), this gear oil delivers reliable protection in demanding environments.
