Description

Castrol Alpha BMB 680 is a mineral-oil-based CLPF-type industrial gear lubricant engineered to deliver exceptional load-carrying capability and protection under shock loads by incorporating solid lubricant (MoS₂) additives that remain suspended in the oil to improve boundary lubrication across a broad range of operating conditions.

This grade is particularly suited for low-speed heavy drives and enclosed gear systems where high torque and intermittent shock loads occur. Its formulation offers high thermal loading capacity, excellent ageing stability, and strong corrosion resistance, while remaining compatible with non-ferrous metals and common seal materials used in industrial gear installations.

The oil meets the DIN 51517-3 CLPF industrial standard and supports extended service life and gear protection in demanding environments such as metal processing plants, heavy machinery drives, material handling equipment, and other industrial applications that require robust lubrication performance.

Key Features

  • CLPF classification (DIN 51517-3): Industrial gear oil standard for heavy-duty protection.

  • Solid lubricant additive (MoS₂): Enhances boundary film strength and load carrying under shock conditions.

  • ISO VG 680 viscosity: Thick oil film for heavy-load gear applications.

  • High thermal loading capacity & ageing stability: Helps extend oil and component life.

  • Excellent corrosion resistance: Protects internal gear surfaces.

  • Compatible with non-ferrous metals & seals: Safe for a broad range of industrial gear installations,

Typical Applications

Ideal for industrial enclosed gearboxes, heavy drive units, and low-speed gear systems in industries such as manufacturing, metalworking, processing plants, and material handling, where equipment is subjected to heavy loads, shock loading, and demanding duty cycles.
