Description
Castrol Alpha EP 220 is a premium industrial gear lubricant in the CLP (DIN 51517 Part 3) category, supplied in a 208‑liter drum for large‑volume applications. It combines high‑quality base oils with sulphur/phosphorus EP additive technology to deliver excellent load‑carrying capacity, resistance to wear, and thermal and oxidative stability, making it suitable for a broad range of industrial gearboxes and heavy‑duty equipment.
This gear oil is designed for use in enclosed gears subjected to heavy loads and shock loading, such as in mining, steel, marine, paper, and manufacturing sectors, where reliability and extended lubricant life are critical. It also performs well over wide temperature ranges due to its high viscosity index and low pour point.
Typical Uses
-
Heavily loaded industrial gearboxes with EP requirements.
-
Enclosed transmission systems operating under shock loads or extreme temperatures.
-
Applications where long gear oil life and reduced maintenance are desired.
