The Allegro 2040‑11K Saccharin Sensitivity Solution is a set of six single‑use glass ampules containing saccharin sensitivity solution designed for use in qualitative respirator fit testing (particularly with Allegro saccharin fit test kits). Each ampule holds about 2.5 cc of solution and is fitted with a pre‑drilled plastic cap to make pouring into nebulizers easier and reduce contamination risk.
When the solution is aerosolized during the sensitivity phase of a fit test, the wearer should detect the sweet taste if they can sense the challenge agent, which verifies that the subject is capable of responding appropriately during the actual fit test.
