The Allegro 2041 Bitrex Fit Test Kit is a complete qualitative fit test solution designed for checking the effectiveness of respirator seals by generating an unmistakable bitter taste when aerosolized Bitrex solution leaks past the wearer’s respirator seal and a reliable indicator that adjustments are needed. This method helps ensure proper respiratory protection for users of disposable and reusable dust and mist respirators, in accordance with OSHA fit‑testing protocols.
The kit includes a reusable test hood with clear viewing window, a sensitivity nebulizer, a test nebulizer, and boxes of Bitrex sensitivity and test solutions (in disposable glass ampules with pre‑drilled caps for easy pouring). The nebulizers produce a fine aerosol (0.3–5.0 µm) of the Bitrex solution to challenge the respirator seal during testing.
